“Whether you are looking for support for yourself, your child, your relationship, or your family, my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, comfortable, and truly heard.”
Hello! My name is Aydan Sullivan and I am an associate-level marriage and family therapist. As your therapist, my goal is for you to feel safe, understood, and supported as we explore what brings you into therapy.
Navigating life transitions, relationships, family dynamics, and other numerous stressors life can throw at us can feel overwhelming. And, on top of that, starting therapy can feel intimidating. Together, we can take the time to explore what’s going on, what you are hoping to gain from therapy, and incorporate your strengths and resources to work toward those goals.
Rather than taking a one-size fits all approach, I believe therapy should be tailored to you. I will work collaboratively with you to find strategies and tools that fit your needs and your goals. I take time to build trust, understand the client, and ensure everyone involved feels seen and heard. I use an integrative approach drawing from Solution-Focused Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques. I also incorporate therapeutic play and art, when appropriate, to facilitate the therapeutic process in a way that feels right for the client.
My educational background provides me with experience working with individuals, couples, and families across a variety of ages (4+), life stages, and experiences.
I am LGBTQIA+ Affirming and approach each client from a culturally-sensitive perspective, believing the client is the expert in their lives and experiences.
Aydan received her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy from Central Connecticut State University and Bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut, where she majored in Psychology and Human Development and Family Studies. Prior to becoming a therapist, she was a nanny, youth gymnastics coach, and behavior therapist for children on the Autism spectrum.
